Are you looking for a tall, handsome, friendly, fun-to-ride horse?  Would you like a horse who is responsive to light aids and a hard worker?

I would love to find Upbeat a good home-for-life with a classical rider who will  appreciate his qualities.  Upbeat loves attention and is happiest when is has a regular person.

I bought Upbeat as a foal with the intention of selling him, but I have not been proactive about selling him because he is fun and fascinating to ride.  Time and financial pressures are now forcing me to follow through with my original plan.

For these reasons I have decided to reduce his price from $20,000  to $12,500.  Reasonable offers will be considered, especially if you are his perfect match.
More About Upbeat
I bought Upbeat as a 7 month old weanling with the intention of raising him as an investment, and a meanwhile companion to my homebred personal dressage prospect Frisbee, who is the same age.  Upbeat has grown up to be a horse that is really difficult to let go!  -- but my both my time and bank budget keep reminding me of my limits.

I want find Upbeat a great home with a devoted rider who will truly enjoy the process of developing his abilities.  He loves his person and will bond strongly with you.

FAQs
- Upbeat sticks at 17 hands; a leggy uphill build with a great neckset.
- Upbeat is an easy keeper.  He gets little grain and is content when in his stall and does equally well in the pasture and in the barn.  He gets along well with other horses.
- He is not "spooky" but he is not bombproof either.  If you are a confident amateur you'll do fine with him.
- He has not been shown but has been to a few clinics.  He was nervous the first few times, but the last clinic with Eddo Hoekstra he went alone and did great! He relaxed and munched his hay while tied to the trailer.
- Upbeat does not have any stable vices and he does not buck or rear.
- He has great feet and has been working barefoot with no problem.  My farrier thinks he has the best feet and behaves the best for him of all the horses on my farm.  He is also good for the vet and for his shots.
- He has never been through a vet check.  I do not have a full set of radiographs on him.
- He gets ridden fairly regularly now and is ready to work for you!
- Upbeat turns 8 years old on June 6, 2009.
Upbeat's Sire Line
Routinier by Rohdiamont was imported to the U.S. by GW Ranch in California.  At his stallion performance test In Germany, Routinier earned 9's for his character, temperament and canter, and 10's for his willingness and ability to work (soundness).  He was ranked #1 by the USDF for mature sporthorse stallions.  He trained with Olympians Stefan Peters and later Guenter Seidel, all while being used heavily for breeding.  He then changed owners and moved to the east coast.  He has recently returned to the showring at Prix St. Georges with his new rider.  He is reported earning scores into the 70s at the PSG level!   Visit his web page with videos at http://www.heritagemanorfarm.com/rudy_main.php

Routinier is by Rohdiamont.  Rohdiamont had an incredible dual career as an international Grand Prix horse and leading sire in Europe.  The beautiful American Rider Lisa Wilcox and Rohdiamont just missed representing the U.S. in the Olympics due to a technicality over qualifying shows.  Rohdiamont is acclaimed by German riders for siring incredible rideability.  His full brother Royal Diamond is also a Grand Prix horse and popular sire.  The Rubinstein/Inschallah cross is a celebrated "nick" in German breeding.
Upbeat's Dam Line
Upbeat was bred by my friend Paula Denmon of Silver Spoon Farm.  She also had raised his dam Magnolia, sired by the imported "A" Dutch stallion Vico and out of a Trakehner mare.  Magnolia needed to have "star" quality in order to gain mare book approval with the Dutch registry, which she did.  Because Routinier is an Oldenburg stallion, Upbeat is registered in the auxilary foalbook of the NA/WPN.  Vico was trained in both jumping and dressage to the Prix St. Georges level, and in Holland he has offspring competing successfully in both disciplines.  Vico offspring are known to be late-bloomers.

Vico was a son of the Selle Francais stallion Alme Z and out of a Star mare.  Alme is world reknown for siring the highest caliber of show jumpers.  His offspring include legends like Galoubet, Jalisco and I Love You.   Galoubet was syndicated for $2 million in the 80's.  You can read more about him at this website (sorry the link would not fit on one line, so you'll need to copy and paste)  http://www.horsemagazine.com/

Upbeats granddam was Patience by the Trakehner Pregelstrand.  He was one of the first top German sires to be imported into the U.S.  He competed through Grand Prix dressage with Leslie Webb.  Leslie then went on to train his son Hannibal to Grand Prix, winning USDF Horse of the Year awards at almost every level along the way!  They also represented the U.S. at the Pan Am games.
